Silverlight Apollo Flex confusion

Maybe you’re like me and wonder how all these terms fit in ? Found a great post by Mike Chambers explaining how all this fits together at

Do Apollo and WPF compete with each other?

Basically Apollo will be a cross platform desktop environment, where your flash apps can run without a browser. Dont really see at the moment how this adds something to what we already have today and how many developers will seriously take advantage of this, but we’ll see in the future what this will bring .

Update: Here is a nice example of a desktop app. Sort of reminds me of a desktop widget. It’s a twitter client at tweet-r.com.
